Who:
Millennials everywhere (well as long as you are on Twitter). You could be a social entrepreneur, a college student, working your first job in sales, currently looking for a job, or the CEO of a major corporation. There are many age ranges for the millennial generation, but we see 1980-2006 as the best fit. (But if you love to chat and our theme interests you, JOIN IN! We don’t have bouncers on Twitter).
What:
A weekly Twitter Chat, @MillennialChat is the handle and #millennialchat is the hashtag. We are also present throughout the week in places other than Twitter. Check out our LinkedIn Group, Facebook Page, & subscribe to this blog’s RSS feed to get continuous updates.
When:
Tuesdays from 1pm – 2pm (EST). I tried to think of a way to keep explaining the ‘When’ section just to make it NOT look out of place, but I couldn’t come up with anything.
Where:
Twitter. @MillennialChat
LinkedIn. Groups
Facebook. Page
In your Inbox. RSS Feed
Why:
When attending the Millennial Donor Summit on June 22, 2011, a group of millennials connected and were tired of being talked about. Statistics are helpful, listening to generational tendencies is always good information, but our group wanted to learn from each other. We broke off from the #MDS11 conference hashtag and created our own – #MDSmillennial. The conversation was going so well and then someone mentioned – “Let’s start a Twitter Chat.” And the rest was history.
Millennial Chat continues every week to connect millennials from all areas of life and chat about problems our generation faces, techniques and best practices to help advance in your career and life, and build relationships that last throughout the week to help promote support for everyone’s ideas!
